Here's my Final Four and Championship pick. I made this the day the brackets came out, and I picked Memphis to win it all, but Memphis can't shoot free throws for shit so now I think UNC is gonna win.

My Bracket: Final Four and Final
After Day One...
So I got 13 of 16 yesterday. I missed Kentucky (WTF, UK? I thought y'all were better when Patrick Patterson was hurt?), BYU (I just picked Texas A&M because I forgot Acie Law graduated), and Kent State (no reason to pick them, just wanted an upset).
I did pick Kansas State over USC (Beasley is an animal) and didn't fall for the upset pick of George Mason over Notre Dame (its Easter weekend - God is with the Catholics this weekend).
And Duke almost lost to Belmont?? AWESOME. I would've given up my whole bracket to see that happen.

Worthless CNN Articles
Rapper T.I., under house arrest, can go to Easter services
Thank God. I was worried.
Bitten while on toilet, woman kills rat
Think about that headline. Think about it again. The mental pictures are staggering.
Giant speed bumps irk scraping drivers
That always did piss me off, but I never called CNN about it
Seriously, is this front page CNN.com news? We need to invade something or impeach someone.
So About Paying Attention In Class...
Not gonna happen today, thanks to CBS Sports' free online broadcast of every tournament game.
11:20? UGA v. Xavier. Nobody in my Civ Pro II class is paying attention to Civ Pro.
Not like that's too unusual.
Here's the link. Enjoy.
My Bracket: SOUTH

Sidenote: Fuck Duke. Seriously.

Thanks For NOTHING
So thanks for nothing, readers of People Know Me. I asked for suggestions as to the best courtroom scenes in movies, and got 0 responses.
Zero.
I know people read it. I know you did. And I hate you for not helping me out.
So here's my list so far. Maybe this will inspire people to submit their favorites if its not on the list.
I'll compile a final list and write a little bit about the scenes. I'm actually excited for it.
I've Seen:
- To Kill A Mockingbird
- A Few Good Men
- My Cousin Vinny
- Philadelphia
- The Verdict
- A Time To Kill
Suggested to me:
- 12 Angry Men
- Presumed Innocent
- Anatomy of a Murder
- Witness for the Prosecution
- Reversal of Fortune
My Bracket: WEST
Here's my take on the WEST Region of the tournament. I was big on UCLA until Love got hurt in the PAC10 Tournament, but I still think their biggest challenges in the region are Duke (ugh.) and Xavier, so I think they'll be ok.

Blast From The Anderson Blog Past
When I started law school, I wrote on a blog called "Contributory Negligence". It didn't last long (thanks to the terrible writing company I was surrounded with) but there was one high point. I unleashed my fury on a habit that many Mississippians have. It bugged me then and it bugs me now. Here, in all its glory, is a re-publication of my blogpost, entitled "Oh, Mississippi". Enjoy.
----------------------------
I love Oxford so far. Its a great place, the people are really friendly, the town is small but has everything you need.
I do, however, have one problem...
PEOPLE IN MISSISSIPPI LEAVE THEIR SHOPPING CARTS ALL OVER THE DAMN PARKING LOT.
This really bothers me. Alot. An unreasonable amount, I think. Is it so hard to take it to a "shopping cart collection" spot in the parking lot? I mean, every time I pull into a spot at Wal-Mart, I almost hit a cart. Every. single. time. I think next time I go to the grocery store, I might just drop-kick the first person I see unloading their car. I'll be like the "shopping cart avenger", saving people with common sense from those who would wish to damage their cars by leaving carts land-mine style around the parking lot. Maybe they'll make a comic book about me.
Note: I found the picture above by going to Google Images and typing in "shopping cart". I almost laughed out loud because it looks alternatingly like the carts are part of a bad horror movie or like they are really, really lonely. Either way, don't sue me if its your crappy photo.

Google Ads Sometimes Get Their Wires Crossed
I was checking my Gmail today and I opened an email from Hunter with pictures of LD Williams, player for Wake Forest's basketball team, dunking on Duke.
Here is a screenshot of the automatic ads that popped up when I was reading the email. Click on the picture to get a bigger version.WHAT THE HELL? Not only does that not apply AT ALL, but who would want that anyway??
Google Ads, you're loco, hombre.
"Kick The Amp Over"
Check out Greg's blog at www.kicktheampover.com or get to it from the link on the right-hand side of this blog.
Its a good read, and worthy of filing under "bloggers who do this better than me".
I Will Never Fully Recover From This
Remember 2005's NCAA Tournament? Remember when Wake Forest was given fucked over with a #2 seed because Nate Robinson and his Washington Huskies bitched their way to the #1? Remember when Chris Paul was just a college player everyone thought was good, not an NBA player everyone thought was great? Remember when two douchebags named Mike Gansey and Kevin Pittsnogle came out of nowhere?
I do, and I'll never get over it.
I remember being a junior in college, watching the game in the basement of my house with my two fraternity brothers (Club Brookwood, represent). I remember thinking that there was no way we could lose this game. I remember picking Wake to go to the Final Four, just like everyone in the world. I also remember going to double overtime and eventually losing. I remember Sean Carroll smashing a full beer into our fireplace and Mike Henning throwing a trashcan across the room.
It remains the most heartbreaking loss I have ever experienced. I don't think I'll ever get over it, and every year about this time, I think back to the best chance Wake ever had to get a national title and how we shit the bed.
Like always.
Best Movie Courtroom Scenes

I'm making a list of courtroom scenes to watch (or re-watch in most cases) and write about.
I'd give you my list, but I'm more interested in what my readers suggest. Write a comment and let me know what you think the best one is.
If I don't get any comments, I'll give my list, but I wanna see if people will give me ideas that I didn't think of.
My Bracket: MIDWEST
Here's my take on the Midwest Region of the tourney. Comments are appreciated.

Dickie Scruggs Pleads Guilty
In news that is HUGE in Mississippi and kinda interesting everywhere else, Dickie Scruggs plead guilty a few days ago to conspiracy to bribe a judge. Here's what the New York Times article on the case said:
-------------
One of the best-known plaintiffs’ lawyers in the country, Richard Scruggs, unexpectedly agreed to plead guilty on Friday to a criminal charge of conspiracy in the attempted bribery of a judge.
Mr. Scruggs was accused of an effort to obtain a favorable ruling in a lawsuit brought by a rival over legal fees in litigation related to Hurricane Katrina. Sidney Backstrom, a lawyer charged along with Mr. Scruggs, also pleaded guilty. Their pleas came in federal court in Jackson, Miss.
The single charge — five others were dismissed under the agreement — carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, according to the agreement.
Mr. Scruggs’s son, Zachary, who was also named in an indictment handed up in November, did not plead and so is expected to go to trial beginning March 31.
Mr. Scruggs and his lawyer, John Keker, could not immediately be reached for comment, nor could lawyers for Mr. Scruggs’s son or Mr. Backstrom.
The trial of Mr. Scruggs, famous for his role in tobacco litigation portrayed in the movie “The Insider,” has transfixed the legal community in Mississippi and nationwide. He is widely credited with developing the legal strategy of gathering mass of clients and suing not just individual companies, like makers of asbestos or cigarettes, but entire industries for damages. In the process he became wealthy and unpopular in the eyes of big business.
---------------------
In related news, Hillary Clinton, previously welcoming of Mr. Scrugg's millions towards her campaign, recently announced that she has no idea who Dickie Scruggs is.
MY BRACKET: East
I love the NCAA tournament. I love it. The first weekend (Thursday to Sunday) is my favorite sports weekend of the entire year. Here, for the next 5 days, is my bracket.
Today: The EAST Region (click on the bracket to see the region clearer)
Spring Break Is Over. Damn.
I'm back from Spring Break in Charleston, SC and not happy about it. A lot of stuff happened while I was gone, but I'm gonna start with a recap of my break. You might not like it, but my parents will, and that's who I write this site for. Kindof.
We went to my parents beach house on the Isle of Palms off the coast of Charleston. Its a nice little island, just about too long to run across but still really small. I have a gallery of pictures on Facebook here that you can check out even if you're not on Facebook, but here are the highlights.
This is a street in downtown Charleston that we went shopping on. I think its King Street, but I'm not sure. Aaaaaanyway, we shopped for a day downtown, went to a few restaurants, watched Wake Forest lose to Florida State... you know... the normal Spring Break itinerary.
This is my new dream house on the Isle of Palms. I have looked at a certain house since I was a little kid thinking that it was the kind of house I want one day, but this new one went up in the last few years and I've decided that I must have it. And I will have it. You just watch.
This is the old slave market in Charleston. Its now an open-air market where people can sell things that they've made or whatever. Its a cool place to just walk around and see what neat things you can find.
This is my favorite picture that me and Brittany took while we were in SC. We took a few more that you can find in the photo album, but this is my favorite. I like it because it looks like we were just talking and someone walked up on us and took a picture.
So that's about it. I enjoyed Spring Break, and its not good to be back. I have 2 papers and 2 exams in the next month, so we'll see how that goes.
